Ukrainian Cheesecake Shop In SA Raises Thousands

The world has been shaken to the core with what's going on between Ukraine and Russia. The world has also never been more united against the Russian aggression - and we're all looking for ways to help. That's where San Antonio's own Laika Cheesecake & Coffee comes into play.

The delicious bakery in Alamo Heights right on Broadway has roots in Ukraine and announced Thursday as fighting began, that they would be donating 100% of proceeds towards the Ukrainian army throughout the weekend. Word spread fast, and as of Saturday afternoon when I stopped by, there was a line wrapped around the building 100 people deep. In fact, so many people showed up on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - they ran out of cheescake! Most people just wanted to donate anyway, and bought something else just to support. Over the three day period, they sold 1500 cheesecakes, and raised thousands of dollars, the total of which is so large they are still tabulating.

What can I say...never underestimate the heart and generosity of this city! So proud of you San Antonio. #StandWithUkraine
