Planning your summer vacation? There's a new nonstop airline route you might want to consider!

Spirit Airlines is launching a new nonstop route between San Antonio and Los Angeles in May, MySanAntonio reports. Flights will depart daily from San Antonio International Airport at 1:41 p.m. and will arrive at LAX just before 3 p.m. local time. Flights to San Antonio will take off at 8 a.m. and arrive just before 1 p.m.

The route is slated to launch on May 5.

To celebrate the new route, Spirit is offering a promotion for a limited time where one-way fares start at $89 with a 14-day advance purchase. You can snag this deal from May 5 to June 14, but keep in mind it doesn't apply to flights on Friday or Sunday.

"In November, service was launched to Orlando and Las Vegas. Now by May of this year, Spirit will connect San Antonio to five destinations across the country. This is a direct result of the support from our community. The more you choose to fly from San Antonio, the more airlines will continue to grow in our market," said Jesus H. Saenz, Director of Airports, San Antonio Airport System.

Spirit currently has the following daily routes out of the San Antonio International Airport on the roster:

  • Las Vegas (currently available)
  • Orlando (currently available)
  • Baltimore/Washington (available March 8)
  • Fort Lauderdale (available March 8)
  • Los Angeles (available May 5)

"Our daily, nonstop flight to Los Angeles will give travelers easy and affordable ways to enjoy all the attractions L.A. has to offer, and joins our other upcoming route launches to Baltimore and Fort Lauderdale," said Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines John Kirby.

There are already existing nonstop routes between Los Angeles and San Antonio on American Airlines, Delta and Southwest.
