Thomas Markle Threatens Monthly Interviews If Meghan Doesn't Call Him

Remembrance Sunday Cenotaph Service

Another day, another bizarre Thomas Markle interview.

Meghan Markle's estranged father appeared on Good Morning Britain on Monday (January 27) to publicly discuss his daughter against her wishes. For those behind on all the royal drama, Meghan's relationship with her father grew strained after it was revealed he was scheduling photoshoots with the paparazzi in the lead up to her wedding in 2018. Following the wedding, Thomas continued to give interviews about Meghan, as well as sharing private letters, photos and videos with the media, over the course of two years. Thomas and Meghan haven't spoken since the summer of 2018.

Despite knowing Meghan does not want him to continue giving interviews about her, Thomas insisted on Good Morning Britain that he will continue to give interviews until Meghan gets in touch with him. “I pretty much will give an interview and wait for 30 days for some kinda answer back. If I don't get one back, then I'll try another interview," he said. "That's about the only shot I have [...] After this interview if I don't hear from someone in 30 days then I will try again. I don’t want to sit in silence in my living room for the rest of my life waiting for someone to get back to me.”

Thomas' interviews aren't simply pleas his estranged daughter to contact him. During these interviews, Thomas consistently and harshly criticizes the daughter he claims to desperately miss and love. In his appearance on GMB, Thomas even went so far as to say Meghan doesn't experience racism as a half black woman. He also added that he's "embarrassed" by Meghan's behavior.

Thomas also challenged his son-in-law to an actual duel while participating in another interview with The Sun. "One round in the chamber. Cocked. Ten steps, turn and fire. That’d settle the score," Thomas threatened. “The way he’s been acting, I think he’d crouch on the ground before he gets to 10 steps. He’s a candy ass. He’s whipped." Thomas, it should also be noted, has never met Prince Harry.

In a recent Channel 5 documentary titled Thomas Markle: My Story, Thomas attempted to defend his decision to continually criticize his daughter publicly, as well as release private information and photos about her childhood. "At this point, they owe me. The royals owe me. Harry owes me, Meghan owes me," he said. "What I've been through I should be rewarded for. My daughter told me that when I reach my senior years she'll take care of me. I'm in my senior years now – it's time to look after Daddy."

"To them I don't exist and now Harry, whether he realizes it or not, is part of my family and I'm part of his," Thomas continued. "We should be talking. He's not 12 years old any more – he's got no right to be this sensitive."

Meghan and Harry have not responded to Thomas' documentary, however, they recently threatened legal action over paparazzi photos taken of Meghan and Archie. It seems unlikely they'll be pleased with Thomas' recent media tour.
