Billie Eilish Commands iHeartRadio Daytime Stage Despite Sprained Ankle

Billie Eilish did not come to play at iHeartRadio Daytime Stage in Las Vegas Saturday (September 21).

The 18-year-old singer, who was arguably one of the most highly-anticipated performers of the day, kicked off her high-energy set dressed in a matching neon green oversized shirt and shorts set that featured a monster-version drawing of her face on the front. Despite having a sprained ankle and sporting a boot to protect it, Billie hopped up and down while performing her hit "Bad Guy," mesmerizing the crowd with her unmatched energy.

Billie's injury didn't stop her from blessing the crowd with an electric performance as she urged them to create a mosh pit before going into her second track, “You Should See Me in a Crown." With the crowd entranced, Billie went on to perform “All the Good Girls Go to Hell,” “COPYCAT,” “Ocean Eyes,” “When The Party’s Over,” and “Bury a Friend.”

Ahead of her performance, Billie caught up with Ryan Seacrest backstage and chatted about how she's in a such good place right now. "[My schedule's] hectic, it’s a lot, but I feel like I’m in a place where I’m very happy," she admitted. Billie went on to discuss how she's "satisfied," with the far reach of her music, saying, "Just being able to [have it appeal] to not one type of person was such a goal for me and even if I microscopically reached them, I’m good. That’s what I wanted."

Billie's Saturday performance fell one day after the Global Climate Strike where millions of young people from every continent poured into the streets for a day of global climate protests. Billie added her voice to the cause by taking to Instagram to urge her followers to get serious about climate change. "TICK TOCK! our time is running out. the climate crisis is very real. we need to speak up and demand that our leaders take action. #climatestrike #fridaysforfuture @greenpeace @gretathunberg," she captioned a boomerang of her wearing a two-piece "TICK TOCK" shirt and shorts set.
