Harry Styles Says He Gets Emotional While Watching 'Dunkirk' (VIDEO)

Harry Styles was on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday to promote Dunkirk

As Gossip Cop has reported, Dunkirk tells the real-life story of the evacuation of Allied forces from the beaches of Dunkirk during World War II. Making his big-screen debut as an actor, Styles plays a soldier in the British Army. He told Fallon, the movie is “very emotional,” and that his co-stars were “unbelievable.” Styles also suggested that the talk show host see the movie on an IMAX screen because it’s so epic.

Styles explained that the film is really about how civilians and fishermen used their boats to save the British soldiers out at sea, who were being attacked by the Germans. “It’s about community heroism,” said the singer, explaining that “it’s very much about the spirit of people, and how, when people come together, you can do incredible things.” He added that it’s about the “small acts” individuals can do that make a big difference.

Fallon and Styles also discussed the singer’s appearance on “SNL” last season when Fallon hosted. And they talked about Styles’s video for his single “Sign of the Times,” in which he flies, and his new song “Two Ghosts.” He also revealed that he loves touring. “I love performing
It’s my favorite part,” said Styles.

In addition to discussing the serious film and his music, Styles and Fallon also had some laughs. At one point, the host pretended to pass out after Styles made a wish using a jade bottle, prompting the singer to take over the show. He amusingly went to sit behind’s Fallon’s desk and held up his album cover. Imitating the late-night personality, the British star announced to the audience, “Have a great show for you tonight! Harry Styles is on!”

As Gossip Cop noted above, Fallon and Styles previously teamed up just a few months ago as the host and musical guest, respectively, on “Saturday Night Live.” During the April episode, the British singer made a cameo in Fallon’s “SNL” monologue. Styles also joined Fallon in a “Celebrity Family Feud” sketch.

Styles has also been “The Tonight Show” with One Direction, and his appearance with Fallon now comes despite a close relationship with “Late Late Show” host James Corden. Styles even had a residency on Corden’s program in May to support his album. But right now it’s all about Dunkirk, for which Styles was also interviewed on the “Today” show Wednesday morning. Check out the video above of Styles on the “Tonight Show.”
